When i was 17 i joined the military in a regiment Called Royal Gloucestershire Berkshire Wiltshire Light Infantry (RGBW li) which was amalgamated shortly after i signed the oath on 1st of Febuary 2007, at this point in time i had no other aspects to do anything else, my life was all set to play out, over this period i served and was doing my time, i completed tours of Afghanistan and other places around the world, i was living the life i always wanted, until i got involved with my Sargent Major, he opened my eyes to a world of the military i didn't know about, The Army Road Racing Team which he was apart of, he asked me to come and work on his bike at the races,
after my first weekend going up i found a secret love i didn't know was there.
i got really in with the team and met a lot of incredible guys with a similar passion, this changed my thought process.
in 2013 i went to the Manx Gran Prix, with two riders and the team i didn't realize this year was a record breaking year and i didn't pay enough attention at the time, Chris Mitchell Raced the Isle of Man course with one arm while setting my dream in concrete.
in April 2014 i was involved in an accident on my motorbike, i woke up a week later out of an induced coma, then realized very quickly the changes i had to make to life, my life journey was changed i knew i was going to loose the military so had to start planning, i was working out why my arm was in a cast, then tired to use my other arm wondering why it didn't move, i couldn't believe it, over the coming year i found out more and more injuries, it felt like the second i started to get over one injury another one turned up,
which turned into a list
Left arm amputation through elbow
broke my back in 3 places
broke ribs
popped lung
nerve damage down my left side, including brakial Plexus
right arm rebuilt, including right hand (fingers in different places)
bleed to brain (leaving scaring)
and more to top it off
The New life started, once i was discharged from the hospital the realization became more, simple tasks where not easy, making a coffee, making my bed, stirring cooking became thoughtful challenges, this was the point needed to find out if my idea's worked for the controls and speaking with Danny Campion set my task into motion.
while trying to work out how to do day to day life, i started to strip and rebuild my Army Race bike while adapting it in the same process, 6 months after the accident i picked the bike up from the local garage Clevedon Motorcycles who checked the work that i have done and i tried it, this started to make me change to what i started to convince myself,
"I can't" became "I CAN"
i now live with the moto
"nothing is impossible, you just haven't figured it out yet"
my dream of biking before the accident became the drive i needed after, Which i then gave myself the impossible Goal to see how far i can get in the racing, with the dream of seeing if i can make it to the Isle of Man TT,
the dream is becoming reality every year closer,
