This was our first outing running Two bikes to say Organised Chaos was an understatement but what a cracking weekend,
Me and Jon arrived Friday evening with the attempt of getting there in good time to finish the last few things on the bikes before we sent them out, but the luck of the weekend was against us from the start, we managed to get there early/mid evening, to getting set up straight away and get started on the bikes, finishing gone 1 in the morning with more things to do,
we got up in good time to just finish, i signed on ready for qualifying on the R6 and i needed this to try and get into the main race, but the weather conditions where hit and miss, i couldn't change to wets as i lent them to someone who i thought i could trust and still i haven't received them back,
so i had to take the decision to not risk the bike on an off chance, then the next qualifying session came up for my SuperTwin, but again the weather was so hit and miss i decided to take the chance and wait for the race start, these are two bikes i haven't ridden so i was doing my best to the conditions in front of me, so bring on the races
Race 1 was Supertwin, i was positioned row 3 of a full grid, went on the warm up lap and the track looked good, which gave me plenty of time to feel what the bike was doing, wow what a bike, thank you Terry,
i came back to the grid for the start, clutch needs adjusting as it wasn't in the right place but got my first start to the season, the race went and had a good ride for the first couple of corners, till it started to rain i had it in my head it was mental rain so keep pushing couple of corners later i felt the back starting to slip slightly as it really wasn't mental rain it was just wet, as i came round the back of the track i felt some hard things hit my helmet as the track went white due to hail, red flags came out and i chose not to go back out,
Race 2 on the R6 well my god what an animal i forgot how powerful it was and that was just cruising to the holding area, i was in the holding area and the temp on the bike started to raise so i turned it off, 30 seconds later we got called forward, the battery was dead (you could only laugh at this point, i blamed it on the luck of the weekend)
Race 3 back on the SuperTwin, starting towards the back of the grid, i was using this time just to gather data on the bike and see how it feels, i was pushing but just feeling what it does, i finished the race and saw the checkered flags (Finaly) finishing 12th in class which wasn't too bad knowing i have much more in me,
Race 3 back on what i will call my pocket rocket R6, i made it to the warm up lap and i have had some work done on it to get it working again thank you Jon, so warm up lap it tried to rip my arm off on acceleration and i forgot i had hel master cylinder and Calipers, with EBC brake pads in, wow that can stop, it caught me off guard,
grid start, bike straight off on to the back wheel, eyes opened up and had a giggle and carried on, bike cornered almost as i remembered it but i couldn't get over the power i felt more of a passenger than a racer and as i was coming into the braking zones i was braking how i have on my other bikes but the braking power was so amazing i was struggling to gauge where i needed to be, what an incredible machine, i will need to get a little more time on it before i race it at Aberdare park,
what a weekend, i got the information i need to now wait for olivers mount in the next couple of weeks,
i Cant thank the support i have received, there are some absolute amazing people and business out there and words cant describe to you how much this means to me
