Welcome to the new season, so I was racing at Brands Hatch this weekend with NG Road Racing for the opening round of the season,
So test day on Friday was a really hard day, with some incredibly sad news for the NG paddock and would like to send my condolences to Gary’s family for a extremely unfortunate accident,
It was a horrible day not only due to the unfortunate event but it was a day of flipping a coin to see if it was were or dry, but managed to finally get a wobble around to try the brand new (but old) bike out, it felt good but had to try some new things out, my second session was really good I manage to find a good pace and knew I could do better but felt great on the bike,
Race day is now upon us, Saturday morning I went out on qualification and managed to pull out an ok lap, at a 56 seconds, I looked at the grid to find I was 16th on grid with the lead racer managing a 53 second lap, so 16 racers all within 3 seconds of each other
Race 1 I had a poor start (which is normal) and lost quite a few positions but slowly brought it back over the race having some great battles with some riders and crossed the line 15th overall,
Day two, was wet very very wet, last time I was on wets was at brands hatch and it didn’t end well, so I was quite gingerly going round to find confidence on the wets again but the race was red flagged half way through and I finished the race 16th which I was happy I managed the race,
Race 3 I didn’t go out, it was so manic, and we had last race of the day I was hoping to stay wet but it dried out and far too cold, I didn’t want to trash a set of wets and didn’t want to risk the bike, but what a great weekend, I absolutely loved it
I used this weekend to have a shake down for Tonfanau Road Racing for the Easter weekend that I really can’t wait for I’m so excited, this will be the first real road race and had a great shake down before going
I would love to thank family, friends and supporters
Also would love to thank
